these Osram SFH485P led’s are rated at 1. 5-3v each, so i don’t even think you’d need to use a resistor. Also, they draw around 100mA each and a modern USB2 port should provide 5V @ 500mA. I would think three of these LED’s would be fine powered from a USB2 port
thnx i built the 3LED cap and everything works great but ONLY in i420 mode. . . when i select RGB mode- my 3 LED’s appear as white dots on the black background- but the skull does not respond to my movements. . . i had RGB working once ( it noticed all my 3 dots and the dots were RED color) i want RGB coz my battery lasts longer with it. . any suggestions?
lights4fun co uk 10 Red LED light set with AA Battery module [no batteries] for ONLY £2. 99 ready to use, No soldering etc
BARGAIN
Works Great with Freetrack
what about the camera on a laptop??
Yup, USB – you could say plug ‘n play.
good point. but as long as they are not pointing directly at the camera, i think they would be fine bright.
For USB directly, I used 3 of those leds (serial)and a 6. 8Ohm resistor in front of them. Works perfectly with usb.
u probably could dim the leds with a 10Ohm R instead of 6. 8.
GREAT!!! THX!!!
do you mean directly powering it with a usb? for the batteries, it varies on the led, resistors, and type of battery.
Ok thanks- i was kinda thinking about using a USB- but how much would battery use? and how long before i have to change batteries on say 2 AA?
easy. 3 leds, and a batt. hooked up like this:
ground>battery>led1>led2>led3>ground.
but, if you use a batt with more power than the leds are ment for, than use a resistor. and remember, research this stuff because there are tricky things like the resistor k, and wich way the leds are put in. to use a soldering iron, research that too.
there is still a program for it. . . but it is unnecessary. be sure to look on the freetrack website for the correct measurements
im building the 3 led clip atm, its on utube (by urze)
yes u can but making ur own and freetrack is only $0
so the 4th LED is obsolete? and unused? good
3, 4 is old but still works.
OK, i want Free tracks full capabilities, 6DOF- Do i use 3 led or 4 led? ill be mounting it onto my headset.
What about making one for a headset?
Its the most simple circuit. It might be tricky to make all of the wire and the lights fit into the cap, but the circuit itself its simple and easy to understand.
i don’t know, im not too good with electronics and getting all the right bulbs and wires and resistors sounds tricky
yep, but would you rather spend 5 mins building something that costs about 5 dollars, or buy something for 30 dollars
Can’t you just buy the Track IR headset, and download Free Track?
LOL A Death Hat!!! That made my day bro thanks for the laugh!!!
Thanks a billion! You rock!
freetrack cost 15 USD. Trackir5 is much much much much much much better but you need to by around 200 bux.
I can’t find a floppy disk anywhere. Would it be okay if I bought a roll of 35MM camera film, pulled it out of the canister exposing it and then used it instead. And if so how many layers should I use. ?
